The Chevy Chase Library elevator is currently out of service and undergoing modernization replacement. This program will be held in the downstairs meeting room, and it will only be accessible by the stairs.
Join us for a free one-hour exercise program led by friendly volunteers, specifically for those aged 55 and older! We are excited to partner with HHS and Aging and Disability Services to bring this opportunity to you. DESCRIPTION:
Bone Builders offers exercise classes for individuals ages 55 and over, held twice a week. These classes are designed to:
- Increase muscular strength and bone density
- Improve balance
- Enhance energy and overall well-being
Participants will use ankle and hand weights and will engage in warm-up, cool-down, balance, and postural exercises.
REGISTRATION:
- When you enroll, you are signing up for all classes during this 3-month session. This session starts on September 10 and ends on November 19, 2026.
- Classes take place at Chevy Chase Library in the downstairs meeting room from 1:00 to 2:00 on Mondays and Thursdays
- Bone Builders has a strict attendance policy. To keep your spot in the program, you must attend classes twice a week.
- If you miss two classes without showing up or calling, you will be dropped from the program.
- If you miss more than four classes during the session, for any reason, you will be removed from the program.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand weights and ankle weights.
- This program is for adults aged 55 and older.
- Participants must be residents of Montgomery County.
As part of the County Government, MCPL restricts the collection of personal information to instances where it is essential for delivering programs or services.
Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program.
