Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to the library to participate in a short circle time, followed by 30-40 minutes of play-based activity stations.

Help get your preschooler ready for kindergarten by building essential skills across five early learning domains. Kindergarten readiness is about what kids should know and be able to do when they start kindergarten. It refers to a child’s readiness to make a smooth and successful transition and integration into the kindergarten environment. This includes skills like letter recognition, identifying colors, counting, and even gross motor skills.

Through a short circle time and self-led, play-based activity stations, children will work toward increasing these skills. Caregivers will encourage their children as they play. If desired, they will have the opportunity to learn more about the skills their child is building.

This program is recommended for children aged 3 to 5.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.
