Emily Bhatnagar
Turning Empathy into Action
Saturday, June 13
4:00pm - 5:00pm
The 22-year-old philanthropist, bibliophile, writer, and lifelong dreamer shares her story!
Emily Bhatnagar is the founder of For Love & Buttercup, a nonprofit book drive that brings comfort to children with cancer through the donation of books. She started the organization at 17 years old after her father was diagnosed with cancer, and since then, For Love & Buttercup has donated over 30,000 books. During this program, Emily will speak with teens about how she began the nonprofit, the importance of empathy and giving back, and how young people can take their own ideas and turn them into meaningful ventures or nonprofits.
This program is recommended for teens and tweens but is open to all.
Sponsored by Friends of the Library Montgomery County.
