A special presentation on Health and Wellness by Montgomery County Health and Human Services.
Designed for parents but open to all ages, this program explores common misconceptions about alcohol, cannabis, and other substances, along with early indicators of misuse. Attendees will gain tools to navigate stress, anxiety, and peer pressure; learn approaches to setting healthy boundaries; and practice effective communication techniques that support youth well-being. The session also focuses on building resilience and problem-solving skills in everyday life.
Facilitated by Sheryl A. Neverson, Ph.D., LCSW-C, LICSW, Manager III, BHCS/Specialty Behavioral Health Services, and Ferne Ferrell, LCPC, NCC, Supervisory Therapist, BHCS/Specialty Behavioral Health Services Medication Assisted Treatment Program, with a special guest appearance from Arnecia Moody, LCSW-C, LCSW, LICSW, Senior Administrator for Treatment Services, Behavioral Health & Crisis Services

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
