Teens: Build a budget, set goals, compare credit cards, and estimate a dream car cost. Attend in person or on Zoom. Bring a laptop or tablet for activities. Registration required.
SPARK business academy will lead a 60-minute personal finance workshop for teens in grades 7–12. Teens may attend in person or join remotely on Zoom. SPARK's instructor will teach live via Zoom, and MCPL will email the Zoom link to registrants before the workshop.
In the workshop, you will set financial goals, build a budget from scratch, compare credit cards, and calculate the monthly cost of a dream car. The workshop also covers mortgages, credit scores, taxes, and the risks of piling up debt. Simulations and guided activities provide practice with common money decisions.
Bring a laptop or tablet for activities. Registration is required and closes 24 hours before the start time.
If you attend online, Zoom requires users to be signed in to join via the web. Create a free Zoom account in advance, and use the emailed link to join.
