Reading Buddies: Read Together with a Trained Older Adult
Previously Read Across Generations
Tuesday, July 07
4:00pm - 5:30pm
A fun opportunity for children to practice reading books aloud one-on-one with a trained volunteer!
Join us at White Oak Library to celebrate a love of literacy this summer by reading one-on-one with previously selected JCA Interages volunteers.
Children can bring their own book or select one from the library. JCA volunteers are vetted and trained by JCA staff in communication and intergenerational interactions. This weekly program runs for 6 weeks, from July 7, 2026, through August 11, 2026.
Collect a brag tag each week you attend (while supplies lasts); join us for all 6 weeks, and you will also complete MCPL's Summer Reading Challenge!
For children entering preschool through 5th grade. Children attending a MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration needed. Participants can just drop-in.
In collaboration with the Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) Heyman Interages Center.
