Older adults who like to be creative and meet new people - join us for a craft session! We will decorate paper boxes with the help of local teen volunteers. No experience or supplies needed!
Join in a crafting session to create food/candy boxes with a Halloween theme and then further decorate the boxes for your home with origami (three-dimensional folded paper) designs. Volunteer teens with the NeuroSilver organization will be on hand to assist with the crafting. NeuroSilver comprises teens mostly from the Potomac, MD area that are interested in working with seniors on crafting projects.
The Halloween boxes will come flat and ready for folding into receptacle shape. The origami crafts, however, start with flat paper sheets that must be precisely folded according to illustrated instructions displayed during the session. Individual teens will stand ready to lend their hands to crafters in need of help. It is presumed that each participant would have adequate time to make at least 2 sets of boxes and 1 or 2 origami creations.
