Film screening followed by discussion. Teens are eligible to earn 3 SSL hours by attending, participating, and providing feedback! Parents encouraged to attend.

Join us for an eye-opening event for teens, their families and communities. We'll screen the impactful film Can't Look Away, which explores the dangers of social media and the connection between harmful algorithms and their negative effects on young users. The film is 75 minutes long.

After the film, at 3:30 p.m., engage in a discussion about the urgent need for reform, the risks associated with social media, and how to stay informed and seek help for affected youth. This free event is a valuable opportunity to educate families on these critical issues and take proactive steps to protect our community's young members.  Parents are encouraged to attend!

Refreshments will be provided. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, Montgomery County, MD, Inc.

Presented in collaboration with the Montgomery County Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (MCCPTA)
