Join us monthly for a round of book chats and recommendations by kids and for kids! Snacks provided. October's Theme is Myths, Legends, Fables, and Folktales! (Grades 4-6)

Join us monthly for a round of book chats and recommendations by kids and for kids!  Snacks will be provided.

Every month we'll read and recommend books on a different theme. Pick ANY book that has to do with the monthly theme, read it in advance at your own pace, and think about what you liked (or didn't like). 

October's Theme is Myths, Legends, Fables, and Folktales. You can pick from some of our favorite titles below--or ask a librarian for suggestions!

This program is suitable for grades 4-6 (ages 9-12)

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten - sign up online today, and print out your child's reading log and your list of Early Literacy Moments. 

If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
