Help Gaithersburg Library plant a colorful pollinator flower garden!

Join the Master Gardeners of Montgomery County Cooperative Extension Service as we learn about the basic needs of plants (sun, water, soil), parts of a plant (stem, leaves, flower petals), and why plants are so important to pollinators, such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and why pollinators are so important to plants!

After the short talk we will go outside and get our hands dirty as we plant pollinator friendly flowers in the garden bed in the front of the library! Throughout the summer stop by to see how the flowers in our garden are growing and which pollinators have come to visit.

For ages 4 to 12. Parents/caregivers MUST accompany children under the age of 8 during the program. Please dress your child in an outfit they are comfortable in to dig in the dirt.
