Free one-on-one legal consultation with an attorney.

Pro bono legal clinic provided by the Bar Association of Montgomery County via the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center will connect you with an attorney for  one-on-one consultations to help you with a variety of issues.

The Pro Bono Program assists low-income residents of Montgomery County, Maryland obtain free legal representation. Volunteer private practice attorneys are solicited by the Program to provide free legal guidance and/or representation in the areas of absolute divorce, custody, name changes, adoption/guardianship, landlord/tenant (security deposits only), bankruptcy/debt collection matters, wills, powers of attorney, and in limited circumstances immigration and employment cases.

Call the Pro Bono Program at 301-424-7651 between the hours of 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday for additional information.

Sign up is from 6:00pm – 6:30pm (Space is limited).

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.


Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
