Kamishibai or “paper theatre” is a form of street theatre and storytelling that was popular in Japan.

Kamishibai or “paper theatre” is a form of street theatre and storytelling that was popular  in Japan before the advent of television.  In this five-session, hour-long class, you will write and illustrate riddles, haikus and stories and present them in an authentic kamishibai stage.

Art materials will be furnished by the library.

Participants are expected to attend all five sessions (no class on April 19). Registration required. Space is limited.

This project is supported in part by funding from the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
