Step into the world of cosplay with Cosplay Transformation Tips, a 45-minute workshop led by renowned makeup artist Black Crystal. This workshop will focus on the essential skills and techniques to transform your look with makeup, taking your cosplay characters to the next level. Whether you're aiming for a flawless superhero look, an intricate fantasy design, or a dramatic villain transformation, Black Crystal will teach you how to enhance your cosplay with makeup tricks that make all the difference.

What to Expect:

  • Professional Techniques: Learn makeup techniques that can create realistic, dramatic, and transformative looks. Black Crystal will walk you through step-by-step instructions for achieving the perfect cosplay face, from foundation to the final touch-ups.
  • Cosplay Character Focus: You’ll discover how to adapt makeup for different types of characters, whether it's emphasizing sharp features, creating fantasy prosthetics, or mastering iconic character details like scars, facial tattoos, or other distinguishing marks.
  • Color & Contouring Tips: Understand the importance of color theory and contouring in cosplay makeup. Black Crystal will show you how to use shadows and highlights to bring out the features of your character and create depth, as well as tips on choosing colors that match your character’s personality and style.
  • Prosthetics & Special Effects: Learn about applying simple prosthetics, adding special effects like aging or injury makeup, and how to work with materials like latex or gel for additional transformation.

Q&A Session: After the demonstration, Black Crystal will open the floor for questions and give personalized advice to help you perfect your own cosplay looks.

Seating is limited and will be available first-come-first-serve for the first 40 attendees.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
