Crafting the Graphic Novel with Author Gareth Hinds - MoComCon 2025

Join Gareth Hinds as they give us a behind-the-scenes look into the artistic process of graphic novel creation.

Author Gareth Hinds delves into the creative tools essential to their craft, highlighting both traditional and digital methods that shape their storytelling. From the tactile experience of sketching with pencils and inks on paper to the precision and versatility of digital tablets and software, Gareth will share how these tools bring characters and narratives to life. They also touch on the importance of color theory, lettering, and page layout, illustrating how these elements work in harmony to enhance the reader’s experience. By weaving personal insights with technical expertise, Gareth gives a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process that fuels their graphic novel creations.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
