Join us virtually to learn how to mix, proof, knead and shape your challah, in celebration of Jewish American heritage month!
Join us virtually to learn how to make challah step-by-step, starting from scratch and ending up with beautiful loaves! Challah is a braided, enriched bread most often served at the Shabbat table in Jewish households, but it is versatile, also used for sandwiches, and even on some brunch menus for French toast.
If you've ever aspired to warm, fluffy challot of your very own, come bake them with us! You may bake alongside us, or just observe our progress. As our dough rises, we will learn a bit about the history and cultural significance of challah. Experienced bakers and novices alike are welcome. While the process may seem intimidating, even a newcomer will be able to create delicious golden challah with some practice!
Find recipes for challah, or other tasty Jewish dishes, here in our catalog.
In order to participate in this program, you must register. Registration will close on May 9. Registrants will receive an email with the invite to the meeting prior to the event, and the recipe we will be using if you chose to bake along!
