Book club for readers in Grades 4-6. Each season we pick a different style, theme, or genre of book to explore. This Fall/Winter we are kicking things off with graphic novels!
Welcome to Radical Readers: Books & Beyond, Potomac Library's new book club for young readers in grades 4-6. Every season we pick a style or genre that gets us excited about reading. For our first Fall/Winter season, we are reading graphic novels!
This November we will be reading Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier. Join us as we discuss the book, play games, and enjoy some light refreshments!
"Catrina and her family are moving to the coast of Northern California because her little sister, Maya, is sick. Cat isn't happy about leaving her friends for Bahia de la Luna, but Maya has cystic fibrosis and will benefit from the cool, salty air that blows in from the sea. As the girls explore their new home, a neighbor lets them in on a secret: There are ghosts in Bahia de la Luna. Maya is determined to meet one, but Cat wants nothing to do with them. As the time of year when ghosts reunite with their loved ones approaches, Cat must figure out how to put aside her fears for her sister's sake -- and her own."
Pick up a copy of the book from the Circulation Desk at Potomac Library starting October 9th. You can also access the book as an e-book or e-comic on Libby or Hoopla, free apps accessible through MCPL.
