My First Book Club

at Gaithersburg Library

Join us for a weekly book club for children who are learning to read!

As a group we'll read and talk about the book together, then children will have the chance to build literacy skills with different hands-on stations with the help of our teen volunteers from the Gaithersburg Youth Center. You do not need to read the book before the program.

For Grades Preschool-1st. Parents/caregivers MUST accompany children under the age of 8 during the program. 

Please note: there is no My First Book Club when MCPS schools are closed or have a half day.

This program is in partnership with the City of Gaithersburg Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
