Steve Gurney, creator of the Positive Aging Sourcebook, will discuss how to locate resources and evaluate options in choosing the right situation. Held with the Village of North Bethesda.
Steve Gurney, a recognized expert on aging issues, will address the many possibilities available for seniors in the Washington, DC area. Choices include aging in place, assisted and independent living communities, and home sharing. Mr. Gurney will also discuss how to locate resources and evaluate options in choosing the right situation for your needs.
Mr. Gurney, who has a Master's Degree from the Erickson School of Aging Studies at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, became involved in helping seniors in 1990 when he needed to help his family find care for his grandfather. Seeing the need for compiling and sharing this type of information, he created the Positive Aging Sourcebook, which led to his holding many positions to address aging issues. He later founded the Positive Aging Community in 2019 to help make connections, share resources, and improve support and services for seniors and their loved ones.
