Death Café @ Olney - In-person

At a Death Café people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death.

The objective is "to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives."  A Death Café is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. The Death Café is a safe place for people to come and talk openly about their past experiences with death, and their hopes, plans, or fears about experiences with death that have yet to come.  It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. 

Death Cafés are free and open to the public in a respectful and confidential space; with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product, or course of action; alongside refreshing drinks and pastries.

Accommodation Requests

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
