Kick off the 2024 Montgomery County Public Library Summer Reading Challenge with "Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure," and other exciting activities for children and teens.
Activities include:
11:30-12:15 Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure! Science and stories collide in this all new, interactive STEM show. Join us on a treasure-hunting adventure deep within the jungle! The audience helps act out the tale and explore several exciting science concepts. For families with kids up to age 12, space limited, free tickets available starting at 11 AM.
12:30-1:30 Read to a Dog Meet & Greet.
2:30-3:30 Meet The Author Q&A with Ann Fraistat, especially for Young Adults ages 13-17. Find more information about this teen event here: https://mcpl.libnet.info/event/10575425.
11:30-3:30 Ongoing activities include sign-ups and free-book pickup for the Sumer Reading Challenge, a scavenger hunt, and various crafts for children and teens.
During the event, library staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the program, assist with sign-ups, and provide gameboards and a free book for children and teens who register. Can't make the event? Sign-up (or log in) online or at your local library starting May 15, and begin logging your reading, activities, and pick up your free book starting June 14.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
