Join us for a candid discussion about dyslexia with Martin Blank, local playwright and screenwriter, who lives with dyslexia and will share his experience.

This presentation is in lieu of the April Teen Advisory Board meeting. All teens are welcome!

Martin Blank has dyslexia. He is also a highly successful playwright and screenwriter. He’s the author of ten plays and currently is writing a screenplay of The Law of Return. He has served in artistic roles for the American Place Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, and Theater J. Martin attended Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, University of Maryland, and Yale School of Drama.

Join us for a candid discussion with Martin and discover:

  • The hardest thing about having dyslexia

  • How he was treated by teachers and students

  • Strategies he discovered for success

  • Technology—help or hindrance?

  • What it’s really like to build a career over the long haul

Teens, bring your questions and curiosity!

Discussion will be facilitated by Ann V. Wixon, author of Devon in Disney: Devon’s dyslexia helps him become the perfect superhero.
