Join us in celebrating the start of the Year of the Dragon with a New Year-themed story time and craft!
Lunar New Year is an important annual cultural festival celebrated by over 2 billion people around the world. Millions of Asian American people, whose families immigrated to the U.S. from countries such as China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and elsewhere, will be observing today's holiday with their families, friends and neighbors to mark the start of the Year of the Dragon!
Come join us at the Connie Morella Library for an informative and entertaining short program describing and explaining some of the customs and traditions associated with the chasing away of evil spirits and welcoming in a new year filled with happiness, prosperity and luck! We'll have some stories for children of all ages and a chance for you to make a New Year dragon of your own!
