Do you want to better understand and welcome LGBTQIA+ identifying folks in your community? Do you struggle in knowing how to navigate pronouns and name changes? Or maybe, you just want to make sure you're up to date and being as inclusive as you possibly can be. In this workshop you will learn information about gender identity and tips for respecting people’s identity and creating a more welcoming space for people of all genders.

This workshop is presented by Dr. Amena Johnson. Dr.  Johnson serves as the Montgomery County, LGBTQ Community Liaison. Dr. Johnson has 13 years of experience working in organizations with a focus on outreach and engagement to the LGBTQ Community. She has done this work at Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, George Mason University, Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders (SMYAL) and Georgetown University.
