Jamie Zvirzdin, an editor for over a decade, earned an MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College, and has published (mostly nonfiction personal essays) with The Atlantic, Kenyon Review, Orion Magazine, Issues in Science & Technology, Creative Fiction Magazine, The New Republic, Brevity Magazine, and now Johns Hopkins University Press. She currently researches cosmic rays for the Telescope Array Project at the University of Utah and teaches science writing in the MA Science Writing Program at Johns Hopkins University.
Subatomic Writing presents a new way to visualize the English language by comparing particles of language to particles of matter. The six lessons are surrounded by a fictional story involving a cat-stealing demon, whose mischief makes the lessons about grammar and punctuation much more bearable.
