Have you ever wondered why turtles have cracked shells? Join us for an interactive storytime with author Ada Ari, author of The Turtle's Cracked Shell. Journey with us to Nigeria, a country in Africa, for Ada-Ari's retelling of this time-honored folktale. You will learn about Mbekwu and how his actions had a long-lasting effect on turtles all over the world. The story features fun rhymes and a moral lesson on the importance of sharing and being kind. Participants will also learn a famous Nigerian dance move, interact with authentic artifacts from Igbo land in Nigeria (birthplace of this story), and engage in coloring and tracing activities.
Due to the nature of this program, masks are required for participants ages 5 and up.
