Library Lovers Month Kickoff Event

Register for Library Lovers Month 2022 Kickoff and enjoy an ocean-themed STEM program for elementary school aged youth presented by Maynard Okereke, the Hip Hop M.D.

Celebrate Library Lovers Month with the FOLMC and the Montgomery County Library Board as they present a family-friendly kickoff event.

Registration for Library Lovers Month 2022 Kickoff is required. Register and enjoy an ocean-themed virtual STEM program for elementary school aged youth presented by Maynard Okereke, the Hip Hop M.D. Participants will receive the Zoom link via email upon registration. 

To fully participate in the hands-on part of the program, you will need the following common household supplies gathered and prepared in advance:

• Plastic cylinder or large container
• Two plastic cups
• Vegetable oil
• Salt
• Water
• Food coloring - red and blue
• Pipette or straw

Participants are invited to pick up an activity kit containing most of these items before this program at one of the following libraries: Aspen Hill, Connie Morella, Gaithersburg, Kensington, and Wheaton. Activity kits are limited and will be made available beginning 1/29/22; please call ahead to confirm availability.
