Create your own original characters, caricatures, one-panel gag cartoons, and comic strips.

Experiment with pen-and-ink techniques and play around with all the elements of a cartoon: figure and background drawing, perspective, lighting, lettering, composition, and dialogue. This virtual workshop is designed for residents 50+. Registration and attendance to all 5 sessions are required (May 4, 11, 18, 25 & June 1, 2021).

Supply kits will be provided. Supplies are limited so we can only provide kits to registered attendants. If any participant is registered and cannot attend, please contact Kensington Park Library to cancel the registration so that individuals on the waiting list can participate.

Space is limited to 20 participants age 50+. The zoom link will be sent 24 hours before the first session.

Please register every member of your household that needs a kit.

Only register if you are able to pick up a kit(s).  You must have a kit to participate.

The Zoom link will be sent 24 hours before the first session.

Once you are registered, please contact Kensington Park Library to schedule an appointment to pick up your kit(s)! 240-773-9515.  Customers on the waiting list will be contacted if space/supplies become available. Supplies need to be picked up before the first session.

These classes are in partnership with artist Leila Cabib and funded in part by a Wheaton Cultural Project Grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
