Join us for an introduction to Urban Vocal Group Harmony (including Doo-Wop) from the 1950s to mid-1960s.

Join us for an introduction to Urban Vocal Group Harmony (including Doo-Wop) from the 1950s to mid-1960s. Richard Kwatnoski, aka "Squire," a radio producer for over 20 years for Radio Fairfax, will help us explore through slides and music the who, what, when and where of this very popular musical art form. Emanating from America's cities in the 1950's-1960's, the music reflected economic and racial influences. Squire's presentation will be accompanied by recordings of the most transformational groups of the era and explore sounds from the nation's major markets.

Co-hosted with Bethesda Metro Area Village. BMAV is a volunteer organization providing services and community support to allow people to remain in their homes as they age.

For security reasons, this program session will be locked 10 minutes after it begins. Please log in promptly.
