Long-time Edgemoor resident Fred Berner will trace the history of downtown Bethesda and its environs.
Long-time Edgemoor resident Fred Berner will trace the history of downtown Bethesda and its environs – from an impenetrable forest and narrow trail in the 18th Century to a way station and trolley stop in the 19th Century to a civic center and bedroom community in the 20th Century. Learn how Edgemoor, the first automobile suburb, was created before and during World War I; how Battery Park, Greenwich Forest, and Whitehall Manor were later developed; and how Bradley Hills affected them all.
Co-hosted with Bethesda Metro Area Village. BMAV is a volunteer organization providing services and community support to allow people to remain in their homes as they age.
