Maryland STEM fest - Explore Leaves and Trees

Take a walk outside then share what you find! We'll be talking about trees: how they get ready for winter (and why leaves change color!), how animals rely on trees, and more!

Join us to learn more about trees. We'll talk about how trees prepare for winter, why leaves change color in the autumn, and how animals rely on trees.

All participants are encouraged to pick a few tree leaves, pine needles, acorns, or other seeds from the ground before the program. If you pick your leaves early, they will last best if you press them in the pages of a heavy book.

Participants can make an observation book using the document linked here. Please call White Oak Library at 240-773-9555 if you need help printing your observation book.

The observation book will work best if you:

• Print it two sided, and
• flip it on the SHORT edge
