This book recounts the life of Carlos Castro, a Salvadoran immigrant who arrives in the Washington, DC area with nothing and begins a new life. Carlos tells us about the difficulties he went through trying to cross borders, working as a dishwasher, in construction, and accepting several jobs at the same time until he bought his first store and his first house. He is now a successful businessman who has two supermarkets and more than 150 employees. Carlos tells us about the importance of getting involved in community problems and representing those needs to public officials. Carlos Castro tells us about his philosophy of life, his determination, his discipline, his family and his faith.
