Leggett Abouraya is a Washington-area journalist and children’s author.
Leggett Abouraya will read from her two nonfiction picture books, Hands Around the Library: Protecting Egypt’s Treasured Books and Malala Yousafzai: Warrior with Words. The discussion, for children and adults, will focus on the power of young people to speak up and push for change. The discussion will be moderated by Amy Neugebauer a Montgomery County parent who leads a weekly zoom discussion with children about all sorts of civic issues and activism. Neugebauer is the founder of a Montgomery County non-profit organization that teaches philanthropy in the broadest sense to elementary school children.
