The Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC), Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL), and other sponsors have put the needle back on!  Virtual Just for the Record – A Vinyl Day 2020 will be spun in cyberspace on Saturday, July 25th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Facebook Live!

The day’s activities include:

12 p.m. - Make Music Montgomery, featuring performances from our residents, with judging and commentary by a distinguished panel of experts: local radio host Candy Shannon, collector and musician Shola Mapaderun, and Levine Music Silver Spring Campus Manager, Melissa Graetz.

1 p.m. – Conversation with local experts on making, collecting, and playing vinyl records, moderated by local radio host Candy Shannon. Panel members include composer/songwriter Patricia Ju; founder and curator of “Women in Vinyl” Jenn D’Eugenio; radio DJ Marc Minsker (DJ Mackie); and vinyl collector and MCPL Digital Strategies Manager Maddie Hines.

2 p.m. – A workshop on vinyl record pricing hosted by FOLMC’s own vinyl record pricer and Director of Business Operations Lance Salins.

This program will be streamed live on MCPL’s Facebook (no need for an account). We hope you'll join us!
