The Friends of the Library, Montgomery County (FOLMC), Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL), and other sponsors have put the needle back on! Virtual Just for the Record – A Vinyl Day 2020 will be spun in cyberspace on Saturday, July 25th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Facebook Live!
The day’s activities include:
12 p.m. - Make Music Montgomery, featuring performances from our residents, with judging and commentary by a distinguished panel of experts: local radio host Candy Shannon, collector and musician Shola Mapaderun, and Levine Music Silver Spring Campus Manager, Melissa Graetz.
1 p.m. – Conversation with local experts on making, collecting, and playing vinyl records, moderated by local radio host Candy Shannon. Panel members include composer/songwriter Patricia Ju; founder and curator of “Women in Vinyl” Jenn D’Eugenio; radio DJ Marc Minsker (DJ Mackie); and vinyl collector and MCPL Digital Strategies Manager Maddie Hines.
2 p.m. – A workshop on vinyl record pricing hosted by FOLMC’s own vinyl record pricer and Director of Business Operations Lance Salins.
