For ages 5-10 and caregivers. Join us for a special reading by the author of Lailah's Lunchbox: A Ramadan Story with a question and answer session with Ms. Faruqi to follow. Lailah's Lunchbox tells the story of a girl moving to a new town, excited she can now observe Ramadan but unsure of how her new classmates will react. Lailah's Lunchbox is the winner of the 2019 Daybreak Children's Picture book award (recognizing Muslim Women's Contributions to Literature) and a Skipping Stones Honor (2016) and was a Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People (2016, National Council for the Social Studies), a Featured Book of the Month (Anti-Defamation League), and an American Library Association Notable Book for Children (2016).
