Bats! Bats! Bats!
Project EduBat Teen Event
Wednesday, October 14
4:00pm - 6:00pm
Learn more about these flying mammals and contribute to their survival by assembling a bat box for a local farm!
Join us in the 3rd floor meeting room to learn all about the wonderful world of this misunderstood mammal!
Did you know that bats are extremely important figures in our ecosystem? Bats provide crucial pest control, pollination, and seed dispersal services around the world, but their habitats are often threatened. After learning about Maryland bats and their role in the environment contribute to your community and earn SSL hours by helping us build two "bat boxes," which will be donated to Loiederman Farm in Wheaton, Maryland.
Educational tools for this program are provided by Project EduBat and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Education Trunk initiative.
This program is for ages 13-19. Donations from all ages will be accepted throughout the program. Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program.
Join us every Wednesday night for activities for teens. There will be a wide variety of activities including movies, gaming, arts & craft, Lo-fi Study sessions, guest speakers, and more! Ask to speak with our Teen Librarians for more detailed information on what's planned each week. Have fun with friends, make new ones, or just hang out. Drop ins welcome, no registration needed!
