Interested in joining? The Book Club meets the second Thursday of each month from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. We'll talk over the book Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys.

The book chosen for this month's discussion is Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. This historical fiction novel recounts the passionate love of the beautiful and wealthy Antoinette Cosway for an English aristocrat and how this threatens to destroy her idyllic West Indian island existence and her very life. Inspired by, but independent of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, the author tells the story of the childhood and marriage of the first Mrs. Rochester, the West Indian Creole heiress who went insane in a haunting, intense, and tragic tropical world.
