Join us to learn about and celebrate the start of the Year of the Horse with a New Year-themed storytime, sing-along, and craft!

Lunar New Year is an important annual cultural festival celebrated by over 2 billion people around the world. Millions of Asian American people, whose families immigrated to the U.S. from countries such as China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and elsewhere, will be observing the holiday beginning on February 17 with their families, friends and neighbors.

Come join us at the Connie Morella Library for an informative and entertaining short program describing and explaining some of the customs and traditions associated with the chasing away of evil spirits and welcoming in a new year filled with happiness, prosperity and luck! We'll read some children's picture book stories, sing some New Year songs, and have a chance for you to make New Year lanterns, dragons, and horses of your own!

Questions about this program? Contact the Connie Morella branch at 240-777-0970.
