Join us for a Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meeting and learn about investing with the Spark Business Academy. Learn investing fundamentals and how you can start investing at a young age! Build your own $100,000 stock portfolio and trade stocks like Apple, Nike or Amazon with a cool investing simulation tool. This hands-on experience empowers students with the tools and mindset to face future investment decisions with confidence and buy low, sell high! A solid foundation for successful future investors! Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computers, tablet or smart phone. Program for teens 13 & up.
Snacks and sips will be provided.

What is a Teen Advisory Board (TAB)?
TAB is a group of teen volunteers who help the library and the community by implementing, promoting and advocating for teen library services in Montgomery County.
The Teen Advisory Board will provide feedback on programs, assist librarians with planning and running events.
The Teen Advisory Board meets one Saturday a month. For attending this event (which includes the TAB meeting, setting up and cleaning up for the program) you can receive 4 Student Service Learning Hours (SSL). All applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 (or in 8th grade through senior in high school) at time of application.
How to join: Print the volunteer form from our website or ask for one at the information desk. Have your guardian sign and bring it to the meeting.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
If you plan to attend with a group of ten or more, please contact the branch at least one week before the program to discuss how your group might be accommodated.

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend. Contact the Assistant Facilities and Accessibility Program Manager at 240-777-0002 with all other accommodation requests.
