GenOUT Youth Chorus – an outreach group of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC – is the DC area’s only vocal ensemble for LGBTQ+ and allied youth, ages 13-18. GenOUT’s mission is to give LGBTQ+ and allied youth a voice through song and to connect that voice to community. Singers in GenOUT are leaders in the movement to promote and protect the rights of LGBTQ+ people. They offer themselves as symbols and spokespersons for the struggle against discrimination and for equality. They lend their voices to messages of acceptance, affirmation, and love, and they offer their faces to the image of what the world can be.
Now in its 12th season, this nationally recognized chorus rehearses Saturday mornings in the Dupont Circle neighborhood and performs around the area through June. The chorus will travel to Portland, OR in summer 2026 for a gathering of all six GALA youth choruses. Interested in joining? Financial aid up to 100% is available!
Come visit GenOUT's information table in the 3rd Floor Lobby on Wednesday, December 3rd! A representative from GenOUT will be here from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
