“A stunning work of suspense that’s impossible to put down. Christina Kovac masterfully combines a twisty missing person mystery, a heartbreaking love story, and an insightful exploration of the nature of obsession and trauma. I loved this novel.”

Kovac's 2nd novel, Watch Us Fall, a psychological thriller based in Georgetown, will be released on December 2, 2025. She'll also highlight her passion for the thriller genre; her writing process; and for aspiring authors, the challenges of plot pacing/timing, crucial to mystery & thriller novels.
For seventeen years, Christina Kovac managed Washington, DC, newsrooms and produced numerous crime and political stories in the District. Her career as a television journalist began with Fox Five’s Ten O’Clock News, and after that, the ABC affiliate in Washington and NBC news. Her first book, The Cutaway, a DC newsroom thriller, was published in 2017 and is on Olney Library's local author shelf and available as e-audio in MCPL's Hoopla catalog. The Cutaway received a starred review from Publishers Weekly. Booklist raved, “Former D.C. newsroom manager Kovac knows her milieu and portrays it vividly in this smart, absorbing mix of media, politics, and mystery, with twists and turns to the end.”
