School's out (almost) and it is time for our annual Summer Reading Challenge! This year our them is Color Our World and we'll spend the summer celebrating the wide world of the arts! Teens and tweens can join us to kick-it-off with this fun tie-dye event! All materials, including a white handkerchief, are provided while supplies last (although teens are welcome to bring a piece of clothing to do instead).
For Grades 6th to 12th. Registration Required.

Are you ready for the Summer Reading Challenge?
Sign-up for Teen Summer Reading will begin May 15th!
The goal is to read eight books, attend four library programs and complete four of our suggested activities. For every book read, program attended or activity completed earn one raffle ticket on ReadSquared to put towards prizes! If you can't attend a program or complete an activity, you can read a book instead.
The grand prize is a Lenovo Gaming Laptop, while the branch prizes are Art Supplies, a Mini Fridge & Water Bottle, and Raycon Earbuds. If you cannot complete the challenge online, bring your completed paper card to your local library and a staff member will help you enter your raffle tickets.
But those aren't the only prizes! After you sign-up you receive a free book. Complete any combination of 8 books, activities, or programs to receive 2 Washington Nationals ticket vouchers. Complete all 16 items and win a free book voucher to one of the Friends of the Library- Montgomery County bookstores and a free ice cream coupon from Bruster’s Ice Cream (while supplies last)!
Deadline to submit raffle tickets for prizes is September 9, 2025.
Raffles will be drawn September 12, 2025.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
