The Science of Sound STEM activities for kids of all ages
Visit this room full of wonders. You will find:
- Fun STEM activities for KIDS and ADULTS, exploring analog audio and the science of sound. Learn about audio, how records capture music, and how speakers work.
- Tips on maintaining records and stereos for people new to VINYL collecting or interested in starting.
- Plus, the Analog Audio Oddities and the Eccentric Improv Groove Jam Corners.
This is an open exhibit. Attendees can drop by anytime.
Vinyl Day: Just for the Record is a day dedicated to Record and DJ culture in Montgomery County. This free family-friendly music festival featuring workshops, speakers and more! This event is generously sponsored by Friends of the Library, Montgomery County Inc. (FOLMC) and Levine Music.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
