Bone Builders is a free exercise program designed for people over 55! The one-hour sessions are led by friendly volunteers who are excited to help you stay active and healthy.

Join us for a free one-hour exercise program led by friendly volunteers, specifically for those aged 55 and older! We are excited to partner with HHS and Aging and Disability Services to bring this opportunity to you. Please remember that registration is required, so be sure to check out the full description for all the important details. We hope to see you there!  

DESCRIPTION:

Bone Builders offers exercise classes for individuals age 55 and over, held twice a week. These classes designed to:

  • Increase muscular strength and bone density
  • Improve balance
  • Enhance energy and overall well-being

Participants will use ankle and hand weights and will engage in warm-up, cool-down, balance, and postural exercises.

REGISTRATION:

  • When you enroll, you are signing up for all classes during this 3-month session. This session starts on June 23 and ends on August 21, 2025.
  • Classes take place at Olney Library in the large meeting room at 10:15 AM and 11:30 AM on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Bone Builders has a strict attendance policy. To keep your spot in the program, you must attend classes twice a week.
  • If you miss two classes without showing up or calling, you will be dropped from the program.
  • If you miss more than four classes during the session, for any reason, you will be removed from the program.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own hand weights and ankle weights.
  • This program is for adults aged 55 and older.
  • Participants must be residents of Montgomery County.

As part of the County Government, MCPL restricts the collection of personal information to instances where it is essential for delivering programs or services.

Accommodation Requests
