The film is in Spanish with English sub titles.
Filmed over six years and produced by Pedro Almodóvar, The Silence of Others reveals the epic struggle of victims of Spain’s 40-year dictatorship under General Franco, as they organize a groundbreaking international lawsuit and fight a “pact of forgetting” around the crimes they suffered. This Goya, Emmy and Peabody-winning film offers a cautionary tale about fascism and the dangers of forgetting the past, and speaks powerfully to the issues of transitional justice and universal jurisdiction. The film runs one hour and 35 minutes. Other works by Pedro Almodóvar are available through our library catalog.
This is a public performance rights (PPR) showing and is recommended for viewers 18 and older.
