The film is in Korean with English sub-titles.
Director Yim Soon-rye draws the viewer into Korea’s beautiful nature and cuisine with this adaptation of an original story by manga artist Igarashi Daisuke. Hye-won grows tired of city life and returns to her countryside hometown. The film has been noted for the Tetsuka Osamu Culture Award, one of the top three comic awards in Japan. The film runs one hour and 43 minutes.
This is a public performance rights (PPR) showing and is recommended for viewers 18 and older.
Join us for screenings of a variety of programs from around the world. All movies have English subtitles. Programs will occur on the first Sunday of the month. Screenings begin at 1:45 pm, after a short introduction. Plan to arrive at 1:30 to meet other attendees, and so as not to miss the film introduction. Tea will be served after the showing for conversation to continue. We will choose films from the Kanopy program, which can be accessed with a library card.
