Join Vocales Verticales for an afternoon of poetry and writing. How can we use poetry as a tool for resistance? Discover how others did it before and write some poems.
Attendees will explore the poetry of Juan Gelman, an Argentinian poet and political activist, within the historical context he wrote in. This will be followed by the prompts of the day which will be available for those attendees who would like to write. There will also be time for sharing of poems and exchanging feedback among participants. The program will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room. April is National Poetry Month!
The Washington DC-based Vocales Verticales project aims to promote poetry and the arts in Spanish, as well as to create spaces, both online and in-person, that connect the community through poetry. More info:
