Art at the Library: Jacob Lawrence

Celebrate Black History Month with inspiration from Jacob Lawrence.

Join us for an afternoon of art! To commemorate Black History Month, we will learn about Jacob Lawrence, a Black American painter, who is known for his ability to tell stories through his paintings. Then you will paint a story of your own.

This hands-on activity will stimulate your child's creativity and imagination, while helping them develop critical fine motor skills. All materials provided.

This program is designed for children 8 years old and above. 

Registration for each participant is required. Ten minutes past program start time, registration is forfeited. 

This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Library, Montgomery County.

Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

People who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing should request English-language captioning or sign-language interpretation at least five days before the library-sponsored program they plan to attend.
