Grace Virtue is a keen scholar of the humanities and a social justice advocate, from Silver Spring, Md and Manchester, Jamaica. Her work centers around the quest for dignity for marginalized people.
Dr. Virtue will read from her book, and host a panel discussion with this topic: The American Dream, and the ties that Bind: Overcoming Racism, Sexism, and Nativism in Old House and Red Neckties. The program takes place in the Multi-Purpose Room.
She earned her doctorate and master's degrees from Howard University, and her bachelor's in journalism and social science from the University of the West Indies, in Mona, Jamaica.
