Students in grades K-8: Come tell us about what you've been reading, hear from other kids about what they've liked, and maybe discover your next book to read!
Join in this unusual version of a book club: you share with us what you've been reading and try to get other kids excited about it, then learn from them about their favorites and maybe check them out yourself. Come ready to talk for a few minutes about anything you've loved reading or have had read to you--picture book, chapter book, nonfiction, graphic novel, series book, readalong, even a playaway or audiobook you've been listening to. We'll have a fun icebreaker activity to get started, then hear from all our participants, and play a book- and library-themed game. The Connie Morella children's librarians will also have a selection of books that they've picked out for you to take a look at and see if one of them just might entice you to take it home! Especially recommended for kids participating in the Winter Reading Challenge, but anyone in grade K-8 is welcome.
Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.
