The Washington Capital Area transformed from a small English town with a few Protestant churches to a flourishing metropolis with 170 different ethnic groups and almost 800 places of worship since its founding. And as the population spread into the suburbs, Montgomery County also became a showcase for religious, ethnic and architectural diversity, Here, almost a third of the residents are foreign-born and about 40 languages are spoken. The places of worship along New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring display this amazing diversity - Ukrainian churches, A Muslim mosque and community center, a Buddhist temple, a Vietnamese Catholic church and a Hindu Temple. Local filmmakers explore these religious sites.
